Tonight my inner child is coming out to share some interior inspiration conjured from memories of sleepovers on mattresses in the living room, camping under the stars with blankets and fire to keep us warm, and cubby houses and canopies made from sheets and rugs and anything else we could get our hands on.
I've curated a collection of my favorite floor sofas and adult 'cubby houses' to celebrate the times when all that mattered was being cozy and having good company - and taking some time to remember, being cozy with good company, and taking a moment to gaze at the stars from time to time, is still pretty important.

I'm sitting here sipping on my afternoon coffee and I've decided, I find Saturdays are the best days for a little reflection and gratitude. It's been a whirlwind of a few months for me as I worked towards finalising my current exhibition, running the e-store, all the while settling into a brand-new day job and dealing with all the other little unexpected ups and downs that life tends to throw one's way.
And the months have passed in what feels like an instant! I've left a few dishes on the sink for one-too-many-days, we've had a few meals on the go because there is not a possibility in the world I have time to cook more than one or two meals...
Yesterday was an incredible day. After a marathon few months of designing, creating, painting and varnishing my collection of cloudscape paintings were finally ready to be on display in their new home at Brick and Mortar Creative, for my very first solo exhibition!
I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to have my artworks on display at Brick and Mortar Creative. I'd always wanted to have a solo exhibition, but I was either never quite happy enough with my work, or, it just was never the right time. A little message on Instagram a few short months ago asking if I was interested, couldn't have come at a better moment. I actually cried of happiness! I was so excited.
It's Easter time! A few extra days off work is the perfect precursor to long, relaxed lunches with friends or family. I loved throwing together this salad of season-fresh figs, prosciutto, buttery olives, pistachios, pickled onions and sheep milk feta on a bed of rocket and mesclun lettuce. Not only do each of these ingredients combine together in a perfect contrast of flavours, I thought this plate photographed pretty well too!

The plentiful bounty of fresh ingredients I used to pull together this fig and prosciutto salad were:
The Salad Bed: Organic rocket (about 4 cups) and mesclin lettuces (a few red leaves, ripped into smaller pieces)
South Australian fresh figs, cut into...
Since listening to an enchanting song named 'Ten Laws' by the inspiring East Forest, one particular lyric always comes to mind whenever I'm feeling burnt out, emotionally drained or just tired. The words 'Always rest whenever you can' are so simple, but carry with them an important reminder to listen to our bodies and take time out whenever we have an opportunity to. Because, in today's busy world, sometimes those opportunities to rest can be few and far between, but it's so crucial to rest to avoid creative burnout.
